Hang Nguyen works in oils, gouache, ink, and fiber. Sometimes, she dabbles in culture jamming. For the past 25 years, Hang has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the U.S. She has collaborated with other artists on several public art projects, including a 72-foot-long mural sponsored by the City of Berkeley and Bay Area Rapid Transit. Additionally, she has contracted with corporations on product illustrations.
In 2014, Hang was commissioned by the San Francisco 49ers (her home team!) to create three large-scale paintings for the new stadium in Santa Clara. This work led to a televised feature by NFL Films that aired on NBC's The Today Show.
Hang has a degree in Art (Painting/Drawing) from Stanford University. Her work is held in private collections in California, Arizona, Oregon, Minnesota, Ohio, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, and Florida. Hang has been represented by numerous galleries, both online and in San Francisco, Atlanta, and Los Angeles/London.
Since 2016, Hang has been on sabbatical to focus on other projects.
